Product Description: 2-Ply Jumper Weight yarns from Jamieson & Smith are 100% Shetland wool, and are traditionally used in the knitting of Fair Isle garments. Available in a full palette of beautiful shades originally designed by Jamieson & Smith, this flagship yarn cannot be imitated in terms of depth of colour and spinning quality. This yarn can also be used in vintage patterns which call for “4-ply yarn.”

CONES: We are no longer attempting to keep these in stock We can get most colors in 500g cones upon request. If you need around 2500 yards (or more), this is the way to go. Just send us an email and ask about special ordering cones.
Fairlight Fibers Notes: Jamieson & Smith 2-Ply Jumper Weight is a very traditional Shetland wool. It has a classic, rustic hand and most colors have a lovely heathered appearance. It is perfect for fair isle projects. The skeins are small, but this is so that you can order many colors for fair isle work. Please keep quantities in mind when you purchase this yarn! If you need a lot of one color, please consider ordering a cone (see the note above). This yarn is a pleasure to knit with. Brilliant colors and a stiff hand that softens with washing make it an ideal yarn for colorwork projects. Highly recommended.
