Blacker Swan Falkland Islands Merino DK
Product Description: Blacker Swan DK is produced from Falkland Islands merino wool, which is then blended with wool from Sue Blacker's black Blue-faced Leicester sheep and some Shetland moorit from Somerset. The yarn is then dyed in subtle colors, which are named as far as possible after the wild flowers which grow on the Falkland Islands, some of which are very rare. The handle is very smooth, soft and luxurious. Being worsted-spun Merino, the yarn has a bulky, drapey quality, which will work well for structured and flowing garments and also for textures.
Please Note: We are no longer selling Blacker Yarns, as they are scaling back stores in the US to meet their production capabilities. All stock is 25% off until it's gone.
Fairlight Fibers Notes: Swan is a very soft yarn, definitely next-to-the-skin quality. The colors are wonderfully rich and slightly heathered, due to the over-dying process. It is the perfect yarn for any project, from cabled scarves to baby blankets.
