Garthenor No. 2
Product Description: Beautifully woollen spun into a light and airy four ply weight, Number 2 is a warm workhorse yarn. Their gentle twist and bouncy fibres trap plenty of air to create a warm and even fabric. Some of these Number 2 yarns are particularly delicately spun, so a bit more care is needed whilst working them. The heathered depth of colour is achieved by blending up to 8 different shades of raw fleece before scouring.
All Garthenor's yarns are certified Organic from Sheep to Shelf.
Please Note: Quantities of these yarns may be limited, due to their unique annual nature. Please plan accordingly, and contact us if you need more of a particular shade or fiber. We may be able to get more, or we may not. These yarns are all sold in 50g skeins.
Fairlight Fibers Note: These are really exceptional natural yarns. They come in a gorgeous selection of colors, and are as soft as traditional yarns can be. The Shetland varieties feel much like more fine-fiber Shetland yarns, with a buttery hand that softens as you work. Poll Dorset is super fuzzy and bouncy, and Manx Laoghtan has a similar feel but with a slightly more rustic hand. The Blue Faced Leister/Leister Longwool blend is the softest. All are lovely, sheepy, and perfect for projects that want natural wools.
