Stonehedge Fiber Mill
Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd's Wool Fine
Product Description: This is the fingering weight version of the famous Worsted yarn. Shepherd's Wool Yarn is made from a wonderfully soft Merino top. Merino is often said to be the softest of sheep's wool. It is washed, combed into top, and dyed to Stonehedge Fiber Mill's specifications. Stonehedge Fiber Mill then pindrafts it, often blending additional colors (all the heathery colors are blends), and spins it on their machines.
Note: if you need more of a color than we have in stock, please let us know, and we can special order more for you, ensuring that everything will be the same dye lot. This usually takes 2-3 weeks.
Weight: light fingering/fingering
Fairlight Fibers Notes: Shepherd's Wool is known as a very soft, very durable, and pleasantly simple old-fashioned yarn. This fingering weight yarn is exactly like the more famous Worsted weight, with a delicious hand and wonderful drape. It will felt, which should be kept in mind if you don't want the work to pill. Like Worsted Shepherd's Wool, the fingering weight is fantastic to work with and ideal for next-to-the-skin projects. We carry all the colorways available, but if you need additional skeins, please ask and we can special order them.
