Blacker Tamar Lustre DK
Product Description: Blacker Yarns' beautiful new lustre yarn is spun from the fleeces of fine British rare breeds, including Teeswater, Wensleydale and Leicester Longwool. The natural grey of the Leicester Longwool makes a subtle base shade in silvery or mid grey and we have then selected a series of complementary colours, sometimes using the exhaust bath to make the paler version - to create a wonderful range of yarn.
Tamar has the sheen and shimmer and drape which links it to its namesake river, and each shade is named after a tributary of the river Tamar.
Dye Lots: We have taken photographs for each dye lot, as they can vary considerably. Please check the quantities you need in each dye lot, if there isn't enough in one.
Please Note: We are no longer selling Blacker Yarns, as they are scaling back stores in the US to meet their production capabilities. All stock is 25% off until it's gone.
Fairlight Fibers Note: It is actually somewhat difficult to describe the astonishing and unique quality of this yarn. The fibers are longer and finer than what constitutes most modern wool, so the resulting yarn has a softer, halo-like appearance and a true natural shimmer like water. The colors overlay the natural wool to create very rich, jewel tones. An absolutely special and beautiful wool that can be used on any DK-weight project to amazing effect.
