Welcome! My name is Jessica, and I founded Fairlight Fibers in 2016, after a life-long love affair with knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting, needlepoint, and hand-sewing. I wanted to create a collection of beautiful, ethically-sourced products in a range of prices that would support farmers and craftspeople, while also providing crafters like myself with wonderful sources of inspiration.
To this end, I hunt down glorious yarns for knitters and crocheters. Some are farm-to-fiber sourced from small, local suppliers. Some are hand-dyed by local artisans. Some feature unusual animal or plant fibers. All are carefully selected to be supplies you can use without concern about their sources.
I'm also on the lookout for fantastic notions to help you create beautiful stuff. From stitch markers to needles to scissors, each notion is carefully selected for its beauty and utility, and if possible, it is also hand-made.
Though right now we are basically a one-person shop, I fully support inclusivity and diversity in every way I can. I hold our dyers, designers, and producers to the same standard. I promise to treat you with fairness, and to do my best to make you feel welcome here. If there's anything you've spotted that doesn't feel right to you, or that I could improve, please let me know! I'm also always on the lookout for new folks to add to our collection of dyers, producers, and designers, particularly people of color or other marginalized folks. So let me know if there's someone you'd like to see featured here! If they're open to it and their work is up to snuff, I would love to partner with them.
It is my hope that you will find gorgeous and useful products here to support your crafting journey. Thank you for your business!
